supply in city forts

Post by guctony »

Does having a supply depot in a city fort hex will provide supply for the units until it depletes. More interestingly will it supply with a higher percentage to keep the readiness up.

Yes it will. Isolated units in WitE2 are more durable. The depot won't supply differently - supply levels are set by the supply priority of the units so those with a lower setting have a reduced maximum ask. Units within 3 hexes of a depot don't need trucks to move the freight so having units on or close to a depot is beneficial.

Wooww Depots will sort out a lot of problems. Having a range of depots in Blizzard can make big big difference. Also Germans can benefit from fortress cities in 1944 I guess.

Even better, if you airdrop enough, you avoid some (not all) of the isolation penalties. So a well supported (ie had decent depots first and you commit your transport assets) pocket can be a real pain for the opposition to collapse.

Yes, the Germans can use the city fort set up. For the axis player its worth looking very closely at the rail map and where the big rail yards are. As they move into Poland, the Soviets need them, desperately, to create the depots that are key to pushing on. So a sizeable delay can really disrupt their timetable.
