bombing airbases NEWBIE

Post by tonyscrase »

it's the start of my turn and none of my airbases or airgroups have moved. I have picked the bomb air base icon at the top and I have clicked on a suitable staging base.

When I hover over an an enemy air base it shows I have 100's of bombers and fighter. When I attempt to attack it there is a message saying bombers are unavailable or out of range and I can't work out why this should be so

Also I have noticed when bombing enemy land units I select the aircraft for the mission from the list of airgroups
BUT the actual attack consists of far fewer airgroups. Is this part of the game or am I doing something wrong

THANK YOU

1) Most likely your "bomb airbase" setting in the air doctrine screen is set to zero.
2) Yes, this is normal.

What CapandGown said plus not all aircraft reach a target no matter the mission.

Tip the best method of executing any air missions is to do it all manually:-

Select mission type
Select staging base
Shift right-click target

This way you get to choose which airgroups to use.
