Secondary effects of QOL sub-scores?

Post by mroyer »

Question: Do the quality of life (QOL) sub-scores or sub-levels (i.e., health, security, education, entertainment) individually affect other elements in the game besides the civilization score? I recognize that the effects of the rolled-up civilization score ripples through things like the happiness of the population and their efficiency, unrest, etc...

But, I'm thinking more along the line of a direct effect of the QOL sub-scores. For example, an intuitive case might be that a zone's education level, high or low, could influence a nation's research effectiveness, better or worse. Does any one know if there are secondary affects like that going on in the game?

They will be added to certain rolls in zone related events. Most commenly security for unrest. But there are also a few other from what I have seen.

Health score helps in some disease events. I don't remember seeing entertainment nor education scores do anything, but the public university has a research bonus on it.

Security is used for unrest supression (in paralell to actuall troops being stationed there).
Similary when you pick "Send in the Troops" during events, only numbers count. And the security score is added to the manpower you effectively send in.

If there are other rolls that use them, this is not properly indicated.

Note that this is on top of some building lines (particulary public ones) having secondary stat they provide.
Universities give Research bonus points.
While Barracks add training bonus to troops stationed in that SHQ.
But that is no general bonus for Education and Security buildings.
