v1.051 Beta - Available Now!

Hi Everyone,

A new Public Beta is now available for testing!

Grab the download from the Public FTP.

1.Improved the look and functionality of the full screen mode.
2.Fixed several minor bugs including some with the game playback feature.


Multiplayer – To utilize the multiplayer server, first create a user account at slitherine.com. You can use this to log into the multplayer lobby screen. There you can create a challenge game, choosing the scenario, game options, and number of players. You can also view challenges created by others which you can join. You can also see a list of games you are currently playing.

The new installer doesn't allow you to change the folder where it is going to be installed the patch.
By default it says it would be installed in c:\MAtrix Games\Gary Grigsby's World at War A World Divided
Please make it so you can select the folder where the game is installed if different from default folder.

Hi,

The latest installer is an update, the way it works; is it will read where you first installed the game and patch in the files into the application/game folder. This for obvious reasons is needed so we can patch the correct files in the games folder.

If you install the game to a location on your c drive for example, then copy it elsewhere after, the updater will read the original install location so it knows where to put files. This sounds like the case here.

There is no option to move where you want the update files by design. Hope this helps.

I can't remember if I first installed the game in its default folder, but when I patched the game it certainly wasn't in c:\Matrix Games\Gary Grigsby's World at War A World Divided.

I know how it works and had just installed the patch where it said it would, then cut and pasted where the game really was. But there will be people who would be lost as simple as it may be, hence my suggestion.

Went fine for me, suggested the right installation path from the start.
Main menu shows the right version number.
Managed to create and delete a given game.

Have you already played and saved a game? Everything went fine for me until I tried to start playing a pbem game, then I tried a game where all players were human and got issues with the saving.

Thanks for the bug reports. Karl has given us a new exe with fixes for the different issues and we'll either get it out shortly as a hotfix exe and/or will get a new installer created for it. He also added the 4 player variant with the Soviet/China combat as suggested. Thanks again.
