Victory conditions

Post by DONNIE67 »

Hi. Can someone pls explain victory conditions and/or specific objectives.
? I see a point counter but this seems to be somewhat cryptic with negative values and unclear with respect to verbiage such as "overwhelming defeat" or victory

Thanks

Victory Level is determined by each side's "On Map Objective Possession", "Loss Penalty", and "Event Awards".

In the example, The friendly side has:

On Map Objectives worth 500 points and inflicted 190 Loss Penalty.

The enemy side has:

On Map Objectives worth 0 points and inflicted 157 Loss Penalty.

Net Victory Point Awards were -80.

This adds up to: 500 + 190 - 157 - 80 = 453.

Looking at the Victory Level Boundaries, this is more than enough for an Overwhelming Victory.

Tx Bob

A few more questions..

1. Who determines what objectives must be met? Or is it based on the sum of any combination of objectives captured?
2. Are the numerical objectives values always numerically labeled on the map?
3. How are the penalties and net victory points arrived at?

thanks again for your help

2. Are the numerical objectives values always numerically labeled on the map?

On map objectives are shown on the map as in the attached. Flag indicates which side currently owns the objective, number indicates the value of the objective.

It is possible to turn off the display of objectives, at the player's option.
3. How are the penalties and net victory points arrived at?

Loss penalties are based upon....combat losses! (Scaled by the Force Loss Intolerance value.)

Victory Point Awards are triggered via events, however the designer designed it. For example, in the above scenario, capture of the red star location shown awards a large VP award to the Confederate side.
