Like an hour to install?

Post by Damien Thorn »

When I tried to install this game from the CD it took over 15 minutes to getless than 1/4 the way done. I stopped it and tried again but it was the same. The music was also choppy and breaking up during this time.

Finally I coppied every file to HD and installed it from there and it installed quickly. I think it was the fact that it was trying to play the music from the CD during the install that made it go so slowly. Did anyone else notice this problem?

I've read about a similar problem in the Korsun Pocket forum. Not sure about the reason but it might be copy protection related. Did you try the install on a different computer ?

That sounds like a bad CD. Especially since you mention that it installed fast from the HD.

I also had the same choppy music prob when installing, but in my case, due to a USB modem. As soon as I unpluged it the music was fine. But the program music files are choppy when playing the game with the modem connected, so I`ve had to turn of the music. I think this is also a Windows related prob as my Windows logon sound also does the same thing. Prolly need an ethternet card. Image

Do you have the USB modem attached to the motherboards USB ports or are you using a USB controller card? Generally quality USB controller cards (not expensive at all, should be no more then 15$ or so) fix a lot of problems. I personally had massive problems with USB HD drives I use for backup. When I switched from on boarb USB ports to a controller card they vanished completly.
