Game broken

I have tried to load MWIF and I get the message:

The file "'MWIF.exe' seems to be corrupt".

How do I get this fixed please? I am using version 4.2.0

No. Upload the MWIF file again from the website here and replace the one you've got in your folder with it. That should do the trick.

But that isn't the version I've got is it - or at least I don't think it is? I thought there was some patch or something. Goodness, why is this all so confusing? Sadly not everyone 'gets' computers.

Right I've found 4.02 (no patch) on the website so I'll give that a go. Thanks

So in my MWIF file I have these. Do I get rid of both of them or just the big one?

Probably just the 49 339 kB sized MWIF.EXE.

Right so I just said replace file and it looks like its worked so thank-you for your help peeps [:)]

The large file is the complete install of 4.02.00. It should not be in the folder with the installed game. It should be in a folder by itself somewhere. With that and any following hot patches, you would be in a position to re-install the game and bring it to the current beta version anytime.

When you say in a folder by itself, I assume you mean in a folder within the World In Flames folder?

No it would be better if it were in a folder under Matrix Games, because it recreates all the MWiF folders if you run it.
