Barbarossa Quick Start

Post by Knavey »

1st time trying the game...lotta time in the manuals.

Quick Start Barbarossa has "locked up" on me at the Neutrality Pact phase on the first term. Well, it won't advance. No form came up. When I go to view - I can pull up the form shown on page 205 of the Player Manual 1, but the form that you are supposed to be able to close (shown on page 206) never appears so neither side can "close it" like the help section references.

Am I missing something easy?

Thanks.

Well, must have solved it myself. I saved the game, closed it and reopened it, and it gave me the ability to advance through the phase. Never saw the form come up. But was able to advance the impulse.

The Neutrality Pact is obsolete in the 'Fast Start Barbarossa' scenario. The pact has been broken, and a war between USSR and Germany has been declared. You should begin the game with deciding which minor to align, if any.

So it seems you had some sort of error. And it seems you fixed it. [:)]

Welcome to the game, Knavey.

I hope you like MWIF, and remain with it for a long time.

Thanks!

Stepped through the next turn, and it stopped in the same spot. Something broken on that impulse in this scenario at least.

Work around is to save and exit.

Well, as a long time Witp-AE player (still going there too) this is definitely up there in complexity. I have to hand it to the designers...a LOT of info in the game to help you along. Manuals, tool tips and videos. Very nicely done.

Are you updated to the latest official version? Or to the latest beta patch?

I went through all the impulses on the first turn and had to restart each time. Turn finally ended, and same thing happened on the next set of impulses. Not that big a deal, since there is a work around.

You didn't start this game in hot seat mode instead of solitaire, by any chance?
