Steam Wargames

We all know that a LOT of the Matrix/Slitherine catalogue has made it to steam.

But there are a few items worth at least mention, that didn't begin here.

Now I am NOT shilling for Steam. It has its uses, but, I'm not a devotee of Steam. If not for a VERY small list of wargames, I wouldn't have an interest in them (Steam).

In recent times, I've dived into a few titles I think look ok.
Tank on Tank digital Western Front. It's lightweight fun.
LnL Tactical Digital Core Game. At 5 bucks, it's not a hard investment.
Operation Citadel (which is not just about that battle oddly enough), an operational game that has a lot of promise. Get it for 17 bucks before the owner comes to his senses and prices it realistically.

Second Front is coming to Steam eventually. Might be the greatest Squad Leader effort yet.
Valor and Victory might be a nice little sister to Second Front.

And I mainly came back to Steam because Unity of Command2 is here.

Hmm just made a pleasing discovery. My 2 Matrix Games 'Frontline titles' are the same dev I know on Google Play as well as Steam.
They are nice light weight fun. So I grabbed them up as well.
The Great Partiotic War, Western Front and a recent title called World War II.
I'll likely get Blitzkrieg after I'm done Thrift store shopping today (gotta make sure my funds are well controlled).

If you spend more time with Lock n Load Tactical Digital, you may come to really enjoy it. I have bought all of the DLC's.

It has joined my most played games list.

I second z1812's comments about LnL Tactical digital. The additional DLC games add so much at $9.99 each.
If you could only afford one I recommend Heroes in Defiance which covers 1940 western front.
You get Dutch, Belgian, French & British forces in different scenarios against the Germans.
Being able to play either side is a plus with the early war armor (no Big Cats: Tigers & Panthers for a change).
I have all the DLC and find it a good tactical go too and prefer over ASL & ASL starter kits.

Another vote for LnL Digital with all the DLC. Picked them all up over the Christmas sale. I've had some good games with the Libyan pack and the Falklands provides some interesting scenarios too. I think there are more scenario packs on the way.

Not sure if they count as wargames, but Twilight Struggle and Labyrinth - The War on Terror are both on Steam. Both faithful recreations of the boardgame version, with the computer doing the heavy lifting. My preferred out of the two is Twilight Struggle.
