Greece in WW1 . . .

Post by stockwellpete »

In most of my games against the AI, Greece joins the Entente quite early on and is usually quite easily defeated and occupied some time in 1915. But the actual history is much more complicated. See here for a useful summary . . .

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greece_during_World_War_I

At one point in 1916 there seemed to be two rival governments in Greece (one monarchist, pro-German - the other one conservative, pro-Allies) and war was not declared by a unified Greek government on the Central Powers until 1917.

What do people feel about the way Greece is handled in the game? It is a very difficult situation to deal with, give that Greece really lost a great part of its independence/territorial integrity during the war and then experienced a national uprising in 1916.
