Aack!!! Need technical help with Mega-Campaign!!!!

Post by gainiac »

I bought and downloaded Lost Victories 2day.

I ran the installer, everything seemed to go OK......

I launch SPWAW, click on "MEGACAMPAIGN", and their is nothing on the list.

I take a look-see into the directory, and all the files are there.....

What gives???

I'm running H2H, is that the culprit?

Help, Oh wise armchair Colonel's!!!!!

Thanks,

Martin

I still need some help with this............

I did a clean install of 7.1 and then I ran the LV installer still no dice.

The Megacamqapign doesn't show up as playable.

I also get these error messages at the end of the install:

Could not move files #3 line 3
could not copy file #3 line 6
could not copy file #3 line 9

Any ideas!!!!

HELP!!!!!!!

It's actually a fairly common problem as far as I can tell. I just went through the same exact problem. And, the only way I solved it was because I read the posts of some others who had the same problem.

I found nothing in the FAQs or on any sticky threads (bummer -- common problems should be posted up there).

Anyway, It has all to do with the directory. The game is not set up to download properly.

I'll find the thread and post it up asap.

I'd greatly appreciate it...............SO what your saying is that the installer basically puts files in the wrong directory and that things need to be moved into the right places?

Thanks,

Found it.

It's in a thread in the main SPWAW section. It's by RHODAN. I punted it to the top of the list. The title of the thread is, crap can't remember now, hehe, something like Desert Fox 1941 -- or some reference thereto.

The specific part you want is listed inside by WILD BILL. Just change the reference from the Desert Fox to Lost Victories. That is the same exact problem I had.

By the way. How come I can't hardly get a win in Lost Victories????

Watch out. When the Big General says that it should be an "easy" mission. hehe. That's when you discover the Russian T-34s and KVs -- and lots of them. They all but overran me. I had to laugh at that.

Bummer.

Thanks KGrob!!!!

I got it to work!!!

I just started the river crossing.............to establish a bridgehead.

So far only lite resistance, my scouts have fanned out and are spotting defensive emplacements and infantry...........I'm using the engineers to clear what I have to and I'm going around everything else.

Tons of smoke everywhere!!! Makes advances easy!!!!

Yo!
I don't know if LV will play in H2H. I can pretty much quarantee there will be differences in some of the unit icons. I suggest you run a separate install of the whole MCLV disc, just to get it installed on your pc. Then if you want you can try copying the LV mega campaign folder from one version to the other. You will also need the pointer file, lost victories.cfg, which is the file that lists the MC in the game. Good luck.
