Will the final manual have the same page layout as this prewiew manual has ?

While reading these prewiew manuals i have come across a number of instances where the refrences to pictures does not seem to be correct...things like: As seen in the picture below, as seen in the picture above...to the right etc..

The "21.11.1. Types of Headquarter Units" section in the manual states there are seven types of headquarter (HQ) units' however the "Type 4" is not listed.

EDIT: Oh, never mind, "Assault HQ" must be the 4th type.

Or, maybe not as 21.11.3. lists "Corps (Type 4) in a table. (?)

This is the layout, however the way it looks in print is different in that when you have it open you'll be looking at two pages at once rather than just one. In some cases for layout purposes the image is on another page, but wherever possible we set that up so that it would be on the facing page.

On Guide #1 -- Introduction, Game Concepts and Getting Started, in box 7 is written "On starting the Game his is the first screen you will see:". I think it is supposed to be "On starting the Game this is the first screen you will see:"

Ok, thanks...
While reading these prevwiew manuals i belive it is something like 4-5 times that i have come across refrences to pictures that seems to somewhat of...for example "as can be seen in the picture below"...when the actuall picture is above...or vice versa...This is no big problem though and might be more correct with the actuall manual.
Unfortunatelly i did not make a note of the actuall locations of these 'issiues' so i can't poiunt you guys to any specific thing...
But...ones again...no big problem i'm guessing [:)]

Hi everyone,

We're going to release preview sections of the full manual between now and the release date (March 25th)...
It would be nice, if buyers could already download the entire manual now. [:)]

Should we ask questions about the rules posted here? Or in a separate thread pertaining to each rule section perhaps?

In any case:

"Each eligible support unit may assist the fort level
building of no more than one combat unit per turn."

I asked about this in WITE1 and never got an answer. How is this ground unit decided, if multiple are available to receive assistance? Or which one of multiple, if the HQ contains more than one engineering unit?

20.5.4. Disbanding Fortified Units

"Fortified units can be disbanded like any other unit, with
the exception that they do not need to be three hexes
away from enemy units."

What happens to attached Support Units, when a fortified zone it is attached to, is disbanded? I suspect it goes back into reserve, attached to the supreme command (STAVKA or OKH), but it might be disbanded and lost...

Can someone smarter than me explain the math here please?

21.2.2. Support Squads

Total Support: 1923 Total support used (organic plus HQ
help) by units in the chain of command under this HQ
during last logistics phase.
§ Organic Support: 1729 Total available support squads in
units in the chain of command under this HQ during
last log phase.
§ Total Support Need: 1801 Total support needed by units in the
chain of command under this HQ during last log phase.

The HQ in question has 247 support squads and 255 vehicles. What is used where?

Has the HQ contributed 1801-1729 = 72 of its 247 support squads to its units under it in the chain of command to fully satisfy their supply need?

___

If a HQ unit has fewer support squads than its ‘NEED’
its leader will not gain certain bonuses when trying to pass
admin checks (15.5.1).

Is this 51/14 on the German HQ? Or 1923 out of 1801 needed? Capitalizing Need, doesnt explain better, when it appears all over the HQ info.

An example here and there would have helped tremendously here.

In section 25.2.1. The Rail Network:
"Note that rail hexes that are adjacent
to enemy units are considered not to be functioning for
the purposes of determining the rail network. These hexes
may not be used for strategic rail movement but supply
will enter those hexes by rail if appropriate."

Does that mean supplies end at the first hex that is adjacent to an enemy unit, but are not carried beyond that hex on the rail network?

Remember supplies come from depots to units and not rail hexes in WitE2. With that in mind is the quote clearer?

Yes, thank you.

Now this though:

In 25.7 there is a picture with two Priority 3 Depots. The text refers to them:
"In this case the Soviet depot at Alekseevka (1) is drawing supply
from Svobida (2)."

The two named depots are both priority 3 depots, I thought a level 3 depot could only supply a higher priority depot. As per below:

"4.10.10. Depot Priority and freight
movement
A depot will only send freight to a depot at a higher priority
(so a priority 4 depot will not send freight to another depot)."

The picture in 25.7 is showing freight is moving between depots because of the white line. In 4.10.10, a basic overview section, is about portraying the basic concepts. To be honest the logistics system in WitE2 is close to real life - the rules are not quite so simple as you would like. Draw and Send like Push and Pull both infer movement but have a subtle difference. Trying to explain all the subtleties is likely to confuse rather than help. This is not a game with preciseness like chess.

An additional release of the manual would make for great weekend reading!
Chapter 30 in particular is of great interest.

BTW, XTRG mentioned that the version of the game he played yesterday may be "the final version."
Whenever the decision is made on the current version being the version to be released 25 March, is there a possibility of it being released at that point in time?

(Do you know how far away March 25th ... uh ... 25 March that is ... is? A long-long-long-long-long time!!!! That's how long it is)
