RE: Sardaukar's 5th Grand Campaign (IJ Hard AI)
SACPAC strategic decisions:
I have split US CVs to 2 areas.
Enterprise and Yorktown are heading to Sydney, Lexington and Saratoga stay in PH. Reason for that is that Sydney Repair Yard is only 30k and cannot accommodate larger carriers. I hope to interdict IJN in Coral Sea when Kido Butai is in DEI. Hornet will join it's "classmates" later.
BB Prince of Wales is moving to PH for final repairs (for repair yard reasons above) and it'll be "flak ship" for US CV TFs, having probably best amount of AAA this stage of war.
BC Repulse is in Perth and repairing for trip to Cape Town shipyard.
Until I get CVs to Sydney, I have been forced just to defend, with CVs can raid a bit.
There is on RN CV soon in Colombo, but it and CVL Hermes have no chance in Indian Ocean...have to find some use for them...

RE: Sardaukar's 5th Grand Campaign (IJ Hard AI)
I would put those top pilots in your training units to raise the overall average experience and skill sets. Some of them may also need increases in their defensive ratings as well. The Allied side, except for China and the Soviet Union, have plenty of pilots coming in so putting pilots into Tracom is not needed. But getting them trained better and faster on the map is important.
Then when you start sweeping, using those high experienced pilots with high offensive and defensive skills will work much better. If they can't protect their "six" then they will still be shot down faster but probably over the enemy forces.

I don't use TRACOM for any training purpose.
It's just handy place to store aces for future use.

RE: Sardaukar's 5th Grand Campaign (IJ Hard AI)
The RN CVs can sometimes get away with raiding across a large island- like Palembang in Sumatra. That is why keeping Cocos Is. and Christmas Is (IO) is good- reduces Japanese search capability.

RE: Sardaukar's 5th Grand Campaign (IJ Hard AI)
ORIGINAL: Sardaukar
I don't use TRACOM for any training purpose.
It's just handy place to store aces for future use.
You would still be stockpiling the aces, you would also be using them to train your current pilots in training so the training goes faster. Sometimes they will improve as well. You can always put excess pilots into a squadron.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.
