- now that Singapore has fallen, onslaught on Burma is coming within a week. Preparing to retreat to India and "Slim Line".
- New Caledonia is still mainly undefended. Americal Division will depart there as soon as transportation is available.
- Dutch are preparing as well as they could for invasion of Java. Supply has been sent from Cape Town regularly to Tjilitjap.
- Canton I., Christmas I., etc. have been slightly reinforced.
- US CVs continue to support Port Moresby, enemy bombardment TFs have been stopped so far by them, land-based air power and PT Boats.
- slight concerns about Midway, considering recent heavy IJN CV activity in area.

Keep ASW TF undocked outside your main ports. They help against those pesky SSX that IJN are fond of.
But real help is that they train all the time without using much fuel (or at all). Thus you get dual benefit of protection and training your ships up to Exp 55/55..or 45/45, depending on type. This is important to USN whose ships often have poor Night Exp.
