Naval Cruise Rules

Post by ruskicanuk »

hey guys - just wondering what the rules are for naval cruise namely when is it available for a naval unit or not. I notice that my long-range amphib transports and normal troop transports sometimes have it and sometimes not as an option... even when supply is 10... one thing that seems common is if i create transport in port then i don't get the option but if something else is already in port so the transport spawns out of port, then usually (not always) i do get the option. anyways, can't seem to sort it out as the rules just say you get it if supply > 5 but that seems not to be the case. thanks for your help!

i've never seen unusual behaviour with this

when you create a troop transport, you can move it straight away (providing the port has strength 5 or greater) using regular or naval cruise movement

all amphibious transports can be loaded on the turn they are created and moved on the subsequent turn

i believe only long range amphibious transports can naval cruise

naval cruise uses an extra supply point and makes unit more susceptible to damage if enemy is encountered

If an enemy units is adjacent you cannot use naval cruise.

Sometime it does not work for me either, I then click on another unit the back to the first and try it again and it works.
Seems to be a small bug, but hard to reproduce.

Try double clicking the transport. Sometimes the button sticks

Also instead of just clicking on another unit, try to move one before going back to your transport.
Another trick you can try is right click on the unit to use naval cruise from its menu !

I have recently had exactly the same issue. Since the last patch. I just click somewhere else, do some other action... and then go back to the original ship and it usually works. Hope this helps. At least you know you are not alone.

Thanks everyone and I will take a look to see what might be happening and fix this for the next update.
