How does the game compare to WitW & WitP:AE?

Post by VonWulfen »

Hello all.
I recently got into WitP & WitW.
Both games feel very different and I find WitP to be more complex, though I am thoroughly enjoying both games.
In terms of scope and complexity, how does WitE2 compare to these games?
Cheers [:)]

WitE2 is like a much broader version of WitW but we have refined elements to make the increased scope easier to control.

Compared to WitP:AE the scope is not so broad but in WitE2 it is much easier to manage your forces. The biggest example would be with air units - in WitE2 you can set generic doctrines by mission type whereas in WitP:AE you have to do it individually for each one.

WitP:AE doesn't have learning curve, it has learning cliff [8D]

Still, the game is going strong after over a decade.

You'll feel right at home if you played WitW i belive.
From the playthroughs and AARS, it's the baby of WitW air model and depot supply, and ground war focus of WitE, plus some inovations (events, preparation points, double rail lines and roads...)

I'm also not sure we do need it either. Considering WITP:AE still runs pretty darn good. Would be nice to maybe get a revamped Bombing the reich/Eagle day though.

I would just be happy with a WITP:AE that runs well under modern systems without all the command line fiddling

Many thanks chaps.
I could not resist in the end and purchased WitE2.
I absolutely adore it, so glad I did not wait 😆
I think my recent time playing WitW has given me more confidence and I feel less intimidated by the grand scale of things.
