To proceed with this method, right-click Start, select ‘Control Panel’ > ‘Programs’ > ‘Programs & Features’ and then click on ‘Turn Windows Features On or Off’.

3. Please also try going to your installation folder and double-clicking on the WarInTheEast2 application file directly (bypassing the game menu on the desktop shortcut) to see if that makes any difference.

Erik, tried everything you mention, game doesn't run and nothing in Task Manager. DX9 and NET was installed during WitE2 installation. Also check that Windows Media Player ON without any change.

As a test, please try re-naming the "Video" sub-folder to "_Video". It's inside the "Dat" sub-folder of your installation, then try launching the game again.

Also, please try right clicking on the WarintheEast2 application in your installation folder, then choose "Run as Administrator" and let us know if that makes any difference.

It is running as administrator, the PPP configuration was as suggested, and renaming vid folder to _vid still not working for me

I'm seeing that you have both a dedicated GPU and an integrated GPU. Is it possible for you to check in your device settings and/or BIOS to make sure the integrated GPU is disabled?

Please try to disable all background programs in case these are interfering with the normal running of the game.

You can do this by running msconfig and disabling all non-windows start-up programs and services.
Then once you have disabled all non-Microsoft services, please run the game and see if the issue persists.

If it does not, please then reopen msconfig and reenable those services, one by one, until you find the program causing the problem.

Please note that we have confirmed that the Nahimic Audio Software from MSI is conflicting with War in the East 2. Try disabling that first if you have it installed.

Just to be clear, did you try the above and it didn't work or you are unwilling to try it and are uninstalling/reinstalling instead?

If you uninstall/reinstall, please also try this before you reinstall:

1. Delete the installer you downloaded.
2. Redownload a new one from the Members Area / My Page

I tried all above and it didn't work.

1.press windows key+R to open Run program.
2.type msconfig then enter
3.select 'selective startup'
4.go to services tab and check the box labeled 'hide all Microsoft services'
5.scroll to the 'NVIDIA corperation' and uncheck the 'NVIDIA localsytem selector' box
6.click 'apply' and 'okay' then when prompted, click the restart button and that may solve your problem.

1. Have you tried temporarily disabling any anti-virus/security software? I assume that would have been covered above, but just in case it's somehow intercepting the game. We've seen some truly weird issues due to this type of software in the past.

2. If you check your Windows Event Viewer, is anything relating to WITE2 listed in the Application logs? If you're not sure how to do this:

Step 1. Type Event Viewer in the Windows 10 search box. Then right click the best match Event Viewer and choose Run as Administrator.
Step 2. Click on Windows Logs, then Application and look for red exclamation point icon error logs that reference the WarintheEast2.exe application.
Step 3. If you find any, please post the info in the details here.

Can you check if you got a crash dump file name WarInTheEast2.exe.<number>.dmp in C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\CrashDumps ?

Yes, it works now!, by the way I have installed War in the East again in my computer and I have the same problem as with WitE2, same error in Event Viewer.

Great! You may use provided exe. It should be safe to use it till we provide official version soon.
