Russian Army morale not increasing

Post by sillyflower »

4 turns after Barbarossa Army morale is still 30. Admittedly it is still 9 May (!). Land losses to date 296. Is this WAD or a bug? Navy morale is up +1 and airforce +3 for not doing anything much

Thanks ncc...that helps with units that are on the map...but how / when does national morale rise?
Did not see that anywhere in that post, but that does help.

I was guessing it is either a set date thing...or a losses thing. Date seems more likely, but losses could pertain to changing in training and tactics...
Could even be a little of both.

From the manual:
Default Experience — Land, air, and naval forces each have their own default experience levels that vary per country. This is the experience a new unit will start with when constructed and when reinforcements are issued. Usually minor countries have lower default experiences than major countries. Default experience goes down when manpower drops below 50% of its maximum. Countries with less than 50% may increase their default experience through combat to a maximum of 50% default experience.

This is I think the only reference, in the manual, regarding how national morale is increasing.

I do not know the exact formula.

I mean national experience not national morale...

Ah okay...maybe just not enough attacks to change it?

I just did another turn so we will see if it ups.

opened the next turn and army experience had jumped from 30 to 33. Pity it doesn't go up 10% every turn

Obviously working but very weird

Working but slower. Good luck resisting the Germans now... Beware of 1942.

I am interested by your feedback. As I said before, I find Russia a lot harder now due to this. But, Germany can do a good 1942 now. Balance, balance...

It's 3 turns since army exp went to 35. It's now 40 so it's clearly working despite the reduced tempo from the wehrmacht that is missing the truck spam it used to have.

If the Moderator reads this: perhaps the thread could be moved to the mainstream as it is not a support issue
