Not really, but most of the regulars will be there at any rate, so don't be alarmed if you say hello here, and no one responds :)

Things will get back to ordinary soon enough.
Wargame, 05% of the time.
Play with Barbies 05% of the time.
Play with Legos 10% of the time.
Build models 20% of the time
Shopping 60% of the time.
Exlains why I buy em more than I play em.

Grigsby's wargames have the unique ability to bring out the hidden Sheldon in their players. There are a lot of great games and great designers, but only Grigsby has this power... [:'(]

WHen you look at the manual you see what a magnus opus the wargame is. I love it but at the same time haven't a clue how to play, where to start and if I have the attention span etc to actually learn it! Still I admire it. I do hope ST has the same sort of detail and depth, being tactical I'll be all out to learn it. I get tactical.

Can't get past the "combat as movement" nonsense. [8|]

But if you guys like it that's cool. Hope you enjoy your game time. [;)]

Maybe so.

I will not be moving there.

I tried to visit the forum, but there was a long line at the door, so I decided to just go home :)

I got right in, no line. Asked what flavors they had. The guy at the counter said they only had one flavor. So I left and went next door to Ben and Jerry's Wargames where they had 54 flavors. [:D]

I was a playtester. Put it on easy level. Put Air on auto. (The air war is a hard part of the game and I never took it off auto.) Play as the Soviets. Choose the Vistula scenario which features the final drive on Berlin and simply begin attacking. An excellent way to learn the game as you go along. The odds are so heavily stacked in your favor that beginner mistakes are forgiven. Read the manual as you need to. Trying to read it all before you start playing is a losing proposition. Just start playing. Also Strategic Gaming Dojo has some excellent videos, albeit lengthy. I have been playing wargames since the seventies. This is a pinnacle of the art. Being part of the playtest was like being in the wargaming equivalent of the Manhattan Project!

Do they have an Australian Beauties thread there? Just wondering whether it's worth a visit?

Nah, I'll just stick around here. I found the original mainly stupor-inducing from the tutorial onwards, so it didn't take much time to end up gathering dust on my shelf. With all the perks, it didn't cost me much at the time, but I doubt I'll be shelling out for this next installment (since annual bonuses are a thing of the past), but for those who do I must say that I admire your fortitude. Hals-und beinbruch! [:)]

Meanwhile in the debates about the game we already reached the "Let's imagine that the USS Enterprise is not sunk at Stalingrad..." phaseline. [8|]

What USS Enterprise: CV-6, CVN-65 or NCC-1701?

Actually there are a multitude of ships named Enterprise from several nations over several centuries. Seems to be a very popular name for a ship. [;)]

Yes. [:)]

Funny now the debate is on the size of the combat ration for German army.
