Questions new to series

Post by vox165 »

Few questions

1) I noticed I was only able to control the germans but not their allies... is there any way to change that?

2) is it possible to control just one group for example I would like to control army group south and leave the ai to the other 2.

Thanks.

The Allies are frozen on the June 22 1941 turn. You will be able to move most of them on turn 2. It isn't possible to turn over control of some units to the AI.

Hi vox, a couple of brief points re your question 2). As Joel says there isn't any option to leave sections of the ground war under AI control. In terms of single player play the game as it is now has 5 decent length scenarios that are much smaller in scope but still big enough to be 'meaningful'. There's also the Stalingrad to Berlin campaign where the lines are much more static and so there is much less moving of counters compared to the first 18 months of the 41-45 campaign. I think that the new victory point system makes that later campaign much more interesting than the hex by hex slog to Berlin that was the equivalent later campaign in WITE1.

With WITE1 there were also a number of cooperative multiplayer games where players had control of a single Army-Group/Soviet equivalent and I'd imagine that similar games will start up in time with WITE2 once people have had a bit of time to familiarise themselves with the game. Similarly if you know somebody else interested in playing the game I'm pretty sure that you could play together vs the AI passing the save game file to each other via email.
