Is there a way to toggle or resize the labels (names) of cities and towns? Thanks.

Well you can turn off place names. Its a simple option in the view menu.

Had me wondering the other day if there is still a need in the settings screen for "display country and city names" or whatever the exact text is that doesn't seem to function\have any effect anymore, since it seems to be controlled entirely by the placenames view layer now.

I keep them turned off but I'll often just open up Google Earth when I'm playing, if I want more geographical info.

BTW I'm often very pleasantly surprised at the homework done by scenario designers, e.g. SAM sites where they exist IRL.

"SAM sites where they exist IRL"

Not to take credit away from scenario designers, but a few people have spent a lot of time putting entire country-specific SAM infrastructure in the export/import section. It saves a lot of research time when building scenarios.
