How does the game play differently from WitE1 in mid and late games?

Post by kvnrthr »

Most of the discussion seems to be about the initial German push in 1941, but for those who have gotten to 1943 or later, are there any big differences in late game?

I didn't play WitE1 grand campaign (preferred the scenarios) but from reading a few AARs, if I recall correctly the WitE1 pattern was that once the German player was on the defensive, they could build many layers of fortified lines to fall back on and slowly retreat to Berlin. Does WitE2 follow a similar pattern or are there big changes?

I’ve not seen many AAR’s go past mud and none recent to blizzard. God knows what’s in store for us! Rainy season far better modelled than wite 1 as mud effects now accumulate instead of on/off.
