You can stop the night interceptions by changing the fighter squadron to DAY ONLY. You can also do this in the Commander's Report for all the fighters at once. The Bf110s were night interceptors - unfortunately they all start focused as BOMBERS. Changing their focus to FIGHTERS will take six weeks but very worth it. Until they return from the RESERVES after their training, use the many flak units to protect your rear railyards. You don't have many large railyards (Minsk, Riga, Kaunus, Vilnus, Lvov, and a few others) before the Bf110s are swapped over so it is easy to protect them with the flak units.

AA over kaunas number 6

37 total 88 on that last one :) Still roughly got the same as in post 87 & 88 earlier in this AAR without a bit more concentration of AA.

All the fighter losses were ops, nothing was shot down by my bombers.

I am still semi on the fence with AA. Is there anything I didn't think of that anyone out there can think of? Or as a German player you just have to submit to having your rail-yards decimated?

I really don't want to make a house rule already without an answer but it is starting to look that way.

Ya, my point is it is worthless to fly at night time with current rule set. So no way to even try to put up a fight that way.

Yes, I know all of this. I needed to verify that in WITE2 this was still not an effective way of addressing the Soviet bombing issue with regular BF-109's. I just confirmed it and showing others. I changed out the BF-110's on the first turn already & did this in WITE1. The flak has had lack luster effect so far and that may be because I just placed it this turn.

***plus it is 8 weeks not 6 to switch between bomber to fighter :(

No problem HYLA. I find that the flak is not as good as a fighter intercept but it is an acceptable alternative until the Bf110s come on line. Saving the Bf109s is important for the Axis in stopping Soviet Ground Support and is far more effective that way.

Soviet unescorted bombers in day would be butchered to the last poor soul. Night bombing needs to be nerfed.

Oh I concur with you 100% I just wanted to test here in WITE2 in a real game. I have done so now and have taken every single one of my single seat BF-109s OFF of night missions. I would advise all German players to do the same unless they want to risk some very high operational losses flying at night time. I appreciate your comments and always welcome all the comment from everyone even if I may or may not know things. It is how we all learn together. Please keep them coming :)

Yes, that is my conclusion too. But, lets get an answer from the powers to be first otherwise we may have to resort to some form of house rule.

Rumanian pockets formed

This is why I like locking down the Southern Front on the first turn. Grab a few extra units.

Keep an eye on the Soviet Infantry Division to the North East in this picture close to the regiment. On turn 3 this division is no longer there. What happened to it? Airlifted out? But I have a ton of fighter in this area you would think they would have intercepted. Soviet withdraw? Anyone help me out here?
