Game Locks up

Am playing the 41 Campaign game with the Soviets as a computer opponent. The game gets to the Soviet Turn 17 Ground Phase and at 43% - at a point where it is forming the Front Line - the game stops responding. I have applied the DPI patch etc but the game still stops at that point. Any thoughts.

Can you upload a save game. Does this happen every time when you replay the turn?

Yes it happens every time I play the turn. It also happens if I start on an earlier turn and get to the same spot.
Having trouble uploading the save file. It wont let me add it to the reply. Thoughts?

As I emailed you, this looks to be a strange situation of the AI getting into a very long loop, as when I ran the save it took 15 minutes to complete the turn the first time and 29 minutes the second time. We have a version we are internally testing that doesn't have this delay, although we can't say we fixed anything (intentionally). If you get into a situation like this where it looks frozen, we suggest you give it some time to see if it will get through the turn eventually. We had some cases like this in test where the turn would eventually finish. When we were able to replicate them we were able to fix these odd situations. It will likely be a few weeks before we get this version out to the public, but for anyone that runs into another situation where the turn just won't end, please send a save to us at 2by3@2by3games.com or attach it here. Thanks Joel. No worries. I have let the turn run as suggested. It does eventually progress but on the next turn takes longer to work through the loop and same with the following turn. I started a new campaign game and from the same turn as my first game; ie from turn 17 onwards it grinds through the subsequent turns getting stuck on the Form Front Line part of the AI turn each time. Looking forward to the update. Still enjoying the game play though [:D][:D] Cheers Barry

Here's a test exe. It doesn't have the other changes that gave gone in after 1.00, but it does have a number of changes Gary is testing with the AI. In my test of your save it only took 2 minutes to get through turn 18. Try it out and let me know if it works better. You'll need to unzip this into the game's main directory (GGWITE2 folder) to replace the .exe there.
