I've copied this from a thread about diplomacy ....
I've also experienced the AXIS gaining Spain at an exceptionally fast rate. As the UK I invested 3 x 50 mpp to counter the AXIS investment. At worst the AXIS has a 15% chance of some favourable change. 15% roughly equates to SOME change every 6 - 7 turns; the value of the change could be slight (with a chance of a large change). The AXIS gained a change to Spain every 3 turns and the value of the change was never small (eg 15 - 20% swings were common).
The game is against Markiss.
Spain moving to the AXIS significantly changes the balance of the game.
As far as Spain goes, I did have my investment maxed, and I think I got 3 hits over a year, the largest of which was 17%. This left Spain around 80%, with the US about to join, so I thought my chance had passed.
Then I took Cairo, and Spain joined suddenly. I think that extra jump from Egypt falling created the illusion of a diplo hit that didn't really happen. I don't ever recall Spain joining as a result of Egypt falling, but maybe I had never played a match where they were over 80% Axis at the time.
Anyway, I don't have screen shots, but that was my perception of the events.
Lock up your wife and children now,
It's time to wield the blade..
As I just posted in the other thread, a history of all events will be logged in more detail within the game for quick access and review and this should help to clarify going forward.
