I love S-class subs!

Post by frank1970 »

In my game against the the AI (Scen 17, US human), SS S37 torpedoed Shokaku on turn 3 and put three torps in it. It has not sunk yet, but is for sure severely damaged and back to Tokyo. Some ten turns later the very same SS S37 put two torpedoes into the Akagi, which should be severely damaged, too.
If you like what I said love me,if you dislike what I say ignore me!

That has got to be the Sub patrol (or patrols) of all time! One Cv is unusual, 2 is amazing!

The boat wasn´t even touched by any escorts, but sys is up to 12 (lousy weather) and torps are down to 0. I will put it back to Noumea and let it repair before I ´ll send it out again.

It got Shokaku near Finchhaven. Then there were quite many planes there and Destroyers etc, so I moved it into Shortland harbor to hunt down MWSs ( I get some there always). The sub didn´t find any ships for a while, but then Akagi in shallow water in the harbour hex. I was really astonished.
It were the first larger military vessels I ever sunk in UV with S-boats and then two carriers in two weeks.
I can´t give medals to my crews, can I ;) .

That is lucky! So Lucky!

Show any of my subs a jap carrier TF than they will generaly either get spotted or shot at a CA and miss  , in well over a year playing this game i have only torped 1 jap carrier!

On the other hand show a Jap sub my carrier TFs and they usually manage to get a look at one of my carriers!

Although i have hit Mutsu with three fish from an s boat! Ah that was a lovely site that was, especially in the morning when my bueaforts stuck a few more in!
