Can't run after 2.02 Update

Post by stransky43 »

Hi all....

Been playing the Campaign Series since 1997 and have installed on many different machines over the years, so I am surprised I'm having this issue.

My old desktop was finally retired and I installed v1 from download today on a new laptop. Everything worked fine and EF, WF and RS all run as expected. I applied the 2.02 update and now can't get past the startup splash screen. If I click on any of the games, I hear the sound but nothing happens.

I then tried uninstalling and re-installing from scratch. The same result, v1 runs fine but 2.02 won't launch the games from the splash screen.

The laptop is a few months old and runs Windows 10 Pro x64. It is fully patched and other Matrix titles are running fine on it.

Any ideas?

Thanks Scud, that totally worked. I downloaded vcredist_x64.exe from Microsoft's site and installed it. Now everything is working.

I wonder why I never had to do that previously. I've probably installed on at least 6 or 7 different machines (or more) over the years.
