Using Drop Tank

the use of drop tank is sometimes possible and sometimes impossible but I can't understand the rule to be sure to use them.
I would appreciate your help.

You have to meet the supply requirements at the base and your aircraft type needs to have drop tanks.

there are 19000 supply in the base and drops tank are not possible. i didn't find anything very precise about the supply requirements in the manual.

I think you need 2x or 3x the min base supply. You don't "use" them unless you have your fighters target or escort for bombers beyond non-dt range.
God made man, but Sam Colt made them equal.

Also, remember that for some aircraft droptanks do not become available until months after the aircraft is introduced. I don't know of any way to see what this date is in advance except to go into the editor and check.

Please post a screen shot of the air group, and one of the base screen, if you wish to get a precise answer.

While you are waiting for a response, I suggest you hit "search" in the top RHS of page menu bars, type drop tank as your search words, check 'less precise match', and set the time filter to all topics.
