in reg there is an icon for save game, not clickable in megacmp.
thanks for trying to answer

That's too bad. If you try to write like most of people do instead of Internetian, maybe people would have more will to understand you and give you better answers.

I stick to try to understand the best I can the English spoken here. Got problems enough with that, thank you very much.

junk2drive:
In regular Spwaw 7.1 I move all I desire then hit Save then hit QuitGame...sorry I calls it EOT.
Game saves in selected slot no problem....No auto save .

In Mega (MCNA) same procedure, hit save, wait 20/30secs then hit QuitGame (eot). Gives me only a SAVE in the game folder.

I've never seen what your describing, do you use CC on ? Not saying it can't happen.

Tested above in H2H (just now) and lo and behold I got an autosave and a slot save.

In a MegaCampaign if I hit save a message appears saying that the game will be auto-saved when I quit (or something like that).

Anyway: for me the save button does not work in Megas.

What's a H2H????

two versions

Post by chief »

rickde1....H2H is a mod by Panzer Leo for playing Head to Head using his mods to the OOBs. It (H2H) requires a full download of SPWAW, seperate from SPWAW 7.1, in which the H2H mod is installed. Giving you 2 separate games. It was designed for pbem type play but it can be played against the AI in some scenarios. You CANNOT play the regular scenarios/campaigns or Megas using this mod. Quite a few of us have both mods installed. The latest and possibly final version is H2Hfr and is available on Panzer Leos site. It comes with quite a few scenarios and campaigns in mod. There are also many new ones available from various locations for H2H.

Yeah your statement on saves is also correct.:) :)

Big Chief always talks wisely and pale-face appreciates it.

In the mean time I am being a lot more careful with the game and things seem to be alright. I suspect the game crashed like that because the CTRL-ALT-DEL was made in the first turn. Tried to do that in the 3rd turn and no problem...

Since we cannot use auto-save, maybe going to the save folder just before the end of battle and copy the file with another name can solve the problem of the backups. Nowadays if you try to save the game with another name, SPWaW just renames it (the old name disappears).

rbrunsman wrote:For the first time for me a MCLV scenario won't load. After I read the reports and select Option 1, it appears to be looking for OOBs for several seconds, then goes to the start button screen where it shows that both sides will be German for some reason. When I click start it dumps to the desktop. Any suggestions?

I'm using v7.0 from MCLV disc and I've downloaded all official patches for LV and SPWAW. My computer is a Dell ~800MHz running on Windows Me. I've never had a problem before this point and I haven't done anything to the game or my system in weeks. I'm playing 2 PBEMs at this time also. Those are working perfectly.

Help...
Was this ever resolved? I am having the same problem with the scenario The Road Ahead: the error message runs of looking for oobxxx data, then dumps me back to the start screen as described above. This is the first problem I've had; I've got all the updates installed. I'm running Win98.

Coldframe, I think that you are scr***d. Unfortunately.

I think the only possible solutions are going back a bit (assuming you have saves) and selecting another path. Or getting a saved game behind this point and continuing from there.

LV worked practically flawlessly for me, probably I didn't select these troublesome paths.

*sob* Months and months of careful playing to save every man and vehicle possible, and down the drain just like that? Of course I have no saves that are near in time to this scenario; everything was working flawlessly. Why should I save? I feel a migraine coming on.

Guess it's not very normal anymore to have problems with LV? For me yes... I've searched the forum for problemolving, and the only post I found concerning the same problem I have was in this thread (alas, without solution...)
Guys,

I'm hoping someone can help. I am currently playing MCLV. I am using SPWAW 7.1 and have downloaded all the patches. I have a Pent. 2 400Mhz, 320megs of ram. My operating system is win98. Direct X ver. 8. I play with all prefs. on except C&C. Here is the problem, I am playing "A Nasty Surprise" Dubno (Node 6 Scen 21). I have played this scenario 7 times Every time, some time after turn 9 the game will crash to the desktop. It is not the same event that triggers it every time either. Mainly it is happening when either the computer or I fire at another vehicle. This is getting very frustrating. I do not like to save during the game, especially since this is a scen with per turn scoring. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Phil
Happens to me, too, all the time. It appeared first in the same scenario. After a few attempts to solve the problem or to play it again and again (every time having the game crash around the 9th turn, without any visible parallels between the crashs...) I just tricked a bit, played the game sort of PBEM by taking over both germans and russians and got through the scenario with that (did not crash once). This didn't solve the problem, however, and now the game crashes in every next scenario afterwards with about the same grace and style... I have no idea whatsoever what could be wrong with it... maybe anyone can help me? I downloaded LV only last week, so I suppose that version is still up to date? (At least when I tried to apply the patches, the files I had were all newer than those in the patches, so I didn't patch after all). Also, I have the SPWaW 7.1 game, and never had experienced any problems with SPWaW before.

My system: Celeron 700Mhz, GeForce4MX 440, Soundblaster Live! 1024, Toshiba SD-1602 DVD... if that is required.

Much obliged,

Gentlemen: Its been a while since I played that particular scenario but if I remember correctly its a scenario designed for a version earlier than 7.1 and it will never get past that point. I played it 3 times with identical results and posted a note on this forum. A reply from I believe the author advised me of such. It never got updated. HTH

When SPWAW was updated to ver 7.1 this particular scenario didn't get its OOBs or such updated by the author. It was written for an earlier version of SPWAW. Hence it won't work in this (7.1) version. Sorry

Ok... but then I don't get why this happens with every following scenario as well? I could play it through when I changed both players to human without any crash, just to finally get onwards, but it happens with every scenario after it as well now (even though there were some scenarios now that seemed to work rather well until I came to the scenario where I had to investigate the activity on a Kolchose, there it crashed again in the same way.)

Don't mean to be nagging about this... it's just that I find this campaign highly addictive and awesome, so I would somehow like to go on.

They're all 25.03.2002... so are you saying it would *perhaps* work with an older version of the game? If that's so... can I reaplly older patches OVER the latest version?

In any case, thanks alot for the effort!

First of all you don't have the latest OOBs. The correct file for 7.1 is dated )4/07/02 and is available for download from this site. This is for ver. 7.1 not H2Hfr. Put in the latest and then retry scenario.

Check your OOBs

Post by chief »

Hagen: Hope that helps you get through the scenario. I assumed from what I read in these forums that the MCNA OOBs were updated prior to release, but from what you say thats not the case.

Most of the time when a game fails in the middle its an OOB problem, be it in scenario (not updated to new version) or SPWAW.

I would heartily reccommend that anyone having any problems with the Megas that were recently downloaded check the dates for the latest OOBs. The dates in 7.1 should be 04/07/02 for OOBs 09 thru 91. Hope this helps someone.

I am afraid that was not the problem I had though, it is still there. The OOB's I found on the page replaced some of the original ones (not all) and dated 19/I/2003...

Hagen: Go to http://www.matrixgames.com/default.asp? ... a8f7ea9c7e

go to center of page and you'll see all downloads you need for SPWAW ver 7.1....I have no idea where you got those from, do what you will with them.
