Halder's case

Post by Laits »

What is your opinion concerning Halder? He has terrible stats but it's very expensive to fire him.
Is it still worthy to appoint von Kluge in the first turn (i.e. 1 to 4) of the campaign?

Not really. OKW has little effect on the combat units. Yes there is some chance for the OKW to pass a leadership check but if your Corps/Army/Army Group leaders are good it will rarely get that high up the command chain.

One point that makes me wonder is the political stat. If it's high it helps saving admin points for the nomination of lower hq's leaders is less expensive.
I do not know if it's still relevant in Wite 2.

It works the same in WITE1 iirc. Higher political cost = higher to replace.

So it could be interesting to appoint von Kluge late in the game. It's a matter of time more than of relevance.
Thanks!

I think so. I don't know if its optimal but 1941 Axis, after using admin on assault/repairs/depots, I try and replace really bad corps commanders first because of their impact. But I can see in 1942 replacing more higher up commanders.
