Korea 2005 scenario problem

Post by montygen »

Good morning
I have been trying to play the TOAW IV, Korea 2005 scenario, and it continually crashes with the following message:

"MIXED GROUP
Exit now and send mx-debug and crashlog file to Ralph"

I identified "Ralph" via the an email address. His response was:

"No idea. I made this for toaw3. Contact support at matrix games as they adapted it for toaw4"

Tech support suggested I post this to the tech forum.
If helpful I attached the following file:

crashlog

The website only allows one upload so I could not attached the others:

mx_debugBefore.sal
mx_debugAfter.sal

Please advise if you need these to troubleshoot the issue.
Would you kindly please advise if you have a solution.
Thank you
Jeffrey Campbell

The tech support forum is here:

I'm not a programmer- but based on the error message I would guess that it's caused by units from both forces being located in the same hex, which while improbable on the face of it is I think possible with the way the game is put together. I know that in older versions of TOAW this did not cause a crashbug and in fact would allow the player to switch between forces during the turn, which obviously causes some issues.

Do you know what action causes the crash? If my theory is correct then I would assume it would be either when you try to open the scenario in the first place, or when selecting a particular stack. The fix would be to identify the offending units/hex, then you can probably edit in .XML to move the wrong-force unit out.
"What did you read at university?"
"War Studies"
"War? Huh. What is it good for?"
"Absolutely nothing."

Make sure you are updated to the latest version, and that you did that in the proper order.
