This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

So I understand the basics and get to kill about +3000 Soviet aircraft on turn one, but some guys can kill 5-6000, so what am I missing? any tips? Cant find any good videos or posts on this, they are either just the basics or not specific enough on how its done

Without flipping fighter to bomber mode:

One needs to use the short distance dive planes on the near targets, Use the longer range on midlevel distance Russian airbases. Use fighters to escort.

At the same time keep a number of air units unused (fighters and bombers), so that they are able to transfer and move forward to an airbase which has moved into Russian space during middle part of turn 1. Then they can clobber some other bases not yet bombed by the longer range planes. Again with escort.

That could get you up into the mid 4,000's at least.

practice is perfection.

Are you moving air basses closer to your targets or just hitting what you can reach without moving?.
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
