This is meant for reports dealing with issues only on the scenario/unit data and map data.

Some typos about place names in Estonia.

Post by teddybbeer »

As subject says there are some typos:

Hapsal (178, 116) should be Haapsalu
Jogveri (182, 114) - Jõgeva, but as i understand you heathens [:)] doesnt recognize lettes õ,ä,ö and ü, then im not correcting those errors.
Kuressare (169, 122) - Kuressaare.
Molskala (179, 121) - Mõisaküla.
Vore (187, 121) - Võru.

Some notes about units located in Baltics.

16th Rifle Division was at full strenght in 22.06 and had 14000 men.
22. NKVD had only of his organic units 5th regiment in Riga (1st was in Kaunas and was shattered in early days and 3rd regiment was in Tallinn and didnt participate battles in Baltics), division was reinforced with local NKVD and latvian militia units, total 3000 bayonets, AT battery and tank company (not 11.5k men like in the Leningrad scenario).
29. Rifle Corps (179th and 184th, ex Lithuanian Army), well i dont know how to deal with those units as most of the corps subunits turned weapons against Soviets, Vilnius was cleared of Soviets by them for example.

Velikije Luki scenario::

In 1. nov 1942 7th RD had 11833 men and 249th RD 12019 men, considerably more than in game, but as both divisions walked ~500km to reach front they both lost around 500 men during march. But units morale should be lower than average, as when there was opportunity to surrender then estonians switched sides, for example 2/925th went over to German side almost in full composition. Some who ran into surrounded town even fought against Soviets (so called "Vainsalu battalion").

What a source of it?
Because from that I can found about this unit on July 1941 - division's reports has various non-division sub-units. For example 1st Naval Infantry Brigade and few Construction battalions are under this division subordination.
11 July report
13 July report

RKKA directive 4/2/492287/ss, it was the division what was brought into Estonia in 1939. during bases agreement and after occupation was not reduced in strenght.

Could you provide a link of it? I doubt that this division was so special in this military district.

Askey states that on average Rifle Divisions in the Baltic MD were at 65% and the 16th RD, which was spread far and wide had, had 10,544.

22nd NKVD was also dispersed but I think for game mechanics is shown as a complete division.

Some Divisions did have low morale with lots of desertions but once again for game mechanics morale is randomised for T1
Molotov : This we did not deserve.

Foch : This is not peace. This is a 20 year armistice.

No link, but apparently directive is fully quoted in "Baltic platsdarm (1939-1940)" by Meltjuhhov.

Check at editor 16th rifle has 78% TOE, unit number 04587, may be it TOE should be set to 90%?
For 179th rifle division, unit number 04713 and 184th Rifle division, unit number 04718, I propose set morale level 20-30, that unit will shattered at 1st combat.

There is no point to change a morale/exp for Soviet units in the editor because it will be randomized by "1st turn rule".
