The South Before my moves. Note the paratrooper in the Crimea and the scarcity of Russian units in the far south.

The South after my moves. I am worried about the portion of my line circled in red.

Hopefully he does not have really good supply there so not getting back a lot of efficiency.
Not being able to get to that city hex across the river sucks...

I think I got off lucky in Russia. During Hadros' turn I lost another 3 corps and an army, but no disasters.

The Centre before my moves. As you can see, rather than driving across the river towards Smolensk, the German armour drove further into the swamp. I am not sure of his objective here; unless it was to cut off my corps in the swamp. If so, those poor guys may have saved Moscow.

The South before my moves. Again, not nearly as bad as I feared.

The South after my moves.
This turn I received my first 2 infantry armies that I built on the first turn of Barbarossa. I know some people save up a lot of Russian production for a big first turn's build (I suspect Hadros did) but I prefer to build lots of large corps and make sure that all of my armour and mechanized are at full strength and upgraded to 41 Tech.

Another 6 MS and 1 escort sunk and 3 U-Boat hits. I forgot to check how turning off the South Atlantic affected my production (Damn).
Tripoli area before my moves. Hadros did not run away with his German armour.
Speaking of German armour, I count 9 in Russia and this 1 here in Africa for a total of at least 10. That is 1 more than I have in our mirror game. Remember that Hadros lost 2 armour in France. I know everyone is saying that something has to be done about the All-In/Big BEF strategy. But I am not so sure.

Tripoli area after my move. One more Italian Corps destroyed. Surely he will run away now?

Egyptian Libyan border before my moves. I subsequently attacked the Italian Mountain Corps in the middle several times with may infantry to wear it down. I then added my armour to the attack causing it to retreat. I then moved my armour into the vacated hex and retreated it again.

I then moved my Mechanized through to surround the Mountain Corps on the coast.

I then made a risky 3:1 attack on the isolated Italian unit. I wasn't too worried because even if this attack failed I could move in some fresh troops for a final attack at much better odds. I was regretting that the RN was not available to provide shore bombardment though. But the attack succeeded on the first try so I was able to finish off the weakened mountain corps as well. Not shown is that I was then able to move my Canadian Infantry Corps through the breach and into the hex formerly occupied by the defeated unit. It didn't occur to me until after I ended my turn that I don't know if I left that unit an escape path.

RE: Hadros (Axis) vs HB (Allies) No Hadros for now
One minor bug that crops up from time to time is that the ZOC of enemy units will stop impeding movement for a particular friendly unit. An example is below where in the top picture my moving unit was able to move through a friendly unit without having to pay the 2 OP ZOC cost of moving into the enemy's ZOC. I am not sure why this happens sporadically. I am sure there have been times when I have moved my units further than they are allowed because I have not been paying attention. To all my opponents I may have done this too, I apologize.
Note that the bottom screenshot shows that by moving the friendly unit I was moving through corrects the error and now my unit cannot move further than it should.

AUGUST 1, 1941,
5 more MS sunk and 4 U-Boat hits. The UK receives 130 production with the South Atlantic shut off. So I am losing about 40 production and saving about 5 MS sunk. Since those 5 MS cost 50 production (if I even had the spare shipyards to build them which I don't) I guess I am better off keeping the South Atlantic closed. Well at least until he moves his U-Boats patrolling in the SA to the NA.
Tobruk area Before and After.
A cautious advance.

The arrival of a German Mechanized unit puts a temporary halt to the British push on Tripoli.
