Battles in Normandy--expansion pack?

Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

For your information, Gregor mentioned normandy in answering the following question from forum member

We thought about this, but we couldn't see any way of stopping players from abusing the system, and creating their own private Maginot lines. But in Battles in Normandy, the scenario creator will be able to specify a number of minefields that turn up in a particular turn and must be placed in that turn by the player (in much the same way as interdiction happens now).

This way, there is a defined limit to the number of minefields created, but you still get the fun of trying to predict where they will do the most good.

Battles in Normandy will be the next game to be released in the "Decisive Battles of World War II" Series. It wont be a scenario for KP, as opposed to a whole new game, using a rewritten engine.
Isn't that bizarre?

I wonder why Normandy? It seems as though all of the games are slugfest without a lot of movement, ie Ardennes, Korsun and Normandy. These battles are not very mobile and lines of advance are dictated by roads and weather. How about something in North Africa or the early mobile battles on the East Front?

Maybe the "Game Engine" is not suited to these type of conflicts.

I would love to see some scenarios from the Italian campaign. Why not the whole thing?

Once Battles in Normandy is out the game engine will have all the elements necessary to do battles like Anzio or Sicily.

As for the question of 'slugfests' mentioned in a previous post, the game engine can handle just about any battle of the right scale. We're only just getting started here, and I'm sure we'll produce a variety of battles sufficient for all tastes over time.

I will love to play Rommel in North Africa. El Alamein or Kasserine Pass, lots of fun with the supply for the German. Where do I sign ?
