Division level, new units and units in stack.

Post by peter bogos »

My wish to have all units in Division level with 3 or 4 units in a stack and create new type of units, SS black color and Soviet Guards, Red color etc.

I don't think the engine supports land unit stacking. Perhaps in Warplan 2?

I think if there was a way to break down the armor / mech corps...and russian armies.

All
Armor - 2 armor div , 1 motorized inf (or potentially add trucks that can be added to inf for movement)
Mech - 1 armor div, 2 motorized inf

This would allow all the countries to break down and build up random units as well as create more armor / mechs without breaking the bank later in the war.

Russian
Armies break into 4 9 point Divs / 2 18 point small corps.

Not sure if possible without major changes.

You will have a counter that you fill with divisions. So if you want to move one unit on top of another you move the divisions to it. But not stacking land units.

Will the "counter" allow for combined arms?

If you mean you can put an armor division and an infantry division in the same counter.... of course you can.

So I guess this counter will be able to welcome more than 3 units. For example, will it be possible to create something like a Guard Tank Army for USSR?

I'm assuming that there will be something like the "specialty" upgrades available for attachments to the divisions also?

Yes there will be specific limitations depending on the country. Like the USSR will have smaller divisions but be able to put more in.

Specialties might be just attachments now.

Big change! No more having to take a unit out of a port to embark another.

Is there any suggestion thread for War Plan II?

Will aviation be the same? It would be very good if your could combine two 10/10 air units.
