Why does Slitherine have background graphics for the manuals. It makes it harder to read and wastes ink if you want to print some of the pages.

I don't have this game yet but usually there's another printer friendly manual in the manual folder, take a look.

Will the manual constantly being updated?

It will be updated if anything severely changes or I might add an addendum. This isn't like WarPlan where too much changed. 99% of the rules are working well.

Good to hear that.
Manual was supposed to help answering questions without bothering you too much.
But many don't read these days
