An idea for change to make anti-tank useful

Post by Illiniwek80 »

I've been playing awhile now. First time I came to this came, I thought anti-tank would be an upgradable feature of infantry units, and was a little surprised that it wasn't. What does the community think of making it a fourth attribute of infantry units, instead of separate units? The biggest drawback I can think of is that I don't know if there is room on the counters.

hello,
I think that no possible to add a fourth capatibility!? in EDITOR.
I have created a mod:
Considering that anti-aircraft weapons at close combat level have changed little during the conflict (.50 gun is The AA weapon of infantery even now[:D]);
And that anti-tank weapons have evolved a lot but that there has been no unit constituted level army corps;
I removed Anti-Tank units and integrated anti-tank capability into upgrades of units formed instead of anti-aircraft upgrades.

Except Germany and USSR will product AT units after May 1942. (DE416/645).

You'd have to swap out another tech, most likely Motorization. Infantry w/ Anti-Tank tech was how earlier versions of the game worked.

the motorization represents at best the evolution of movement techniques, from horse-drawn vehicles to half-track for infantry, for example.
the ability to remove is anti-aircraft. as I explained above
