How does the game find pbem opponents?

I used to love playing the early versions of this game back in the Battlefront days and I’m thinking of giving it a go again.

I’m curious as how the game hands finding pbem opponents. Does it draw from a pool of available games or do I need the actual email of someone that wants a game? Thxs. 👍
