(CLOSED) 41 Campaign, either side.

Post by tyronec »

Experience Level: Intermediate or Higher. I was tester during development so know the game well.
Server Game
FOG of War: On
Movement FOW: On
AI air assist: Off
Enhanced Player TB control: Off
Maybe 2-3 turns per week.
Will do an AAR.
Can PM me to discuss.
The Enhanced TB control is in my opinion open to exploit so I really do not want to play with this. I think it is a great feature to play against the AI but as it is still unclear where the game balance lies I don't think it would be good to use it for HvH games for now.

House rules.
No Temporary Motorisations of any sort until there is an appropriate patch and can then reconsider. This should not be an issue as really the game plays perfectly well without them.
No Super Depots for Axis for at least '41.

The lark, signing its chirping hymn,
Soars high above the clouds;
Meanwhile, the nightingale intones
With sweet, mellifluous sounds.
Enough of Stalin, Freedom for the Ukraine !

No super depots in 41?

No motorized troops in 41?
Motorisation looks to be not working right, so my feeling would be just to not use it at all until there is a fix.
Super Depots am not sure, that is quite a major part of the game to say that it is broken for '41. Maybe it is, I don't know, would be willing to consider it.

I base the "Super Depot" house rule on my observations in my own head-2-head game against myself. Plus I also base it on the observation you had in one of your last BETA AARs on post 114(I would post a picture but the website is still not working for me) and I quote in your words from that post,

"Start of T10.
Am just posting this because I think Axis supplies are too good for this period of the game.
So it is late August, the Panzers have been at full stretch since the start of the game, yes have occasionally been resting some units but the offensive has never paused.
Did a super depot at Gzhastk last turn and it received 27k on a 27% damaged 1 level depot. As a result all Panzers are well supplied, MPs for PG4 range from 38 to 50 and a couple from PG3 also got their share. Plus was able to do a few Refits on the same double rail line.

I really like the super depots, they are great fun - but they allow Axis to service their lead forces in a way that feels too generous. Maybe they are needed by the Soviets late war but then they are supporting an army of 7M plus the VVS whereas Axis here have 4M and minimal Luftwaffe."
end of quote.

***I will post the picture of this when the problem is fixed on the Server***

OK, you have persuaded me.
So no Super Depots for Axis in '41 is a good house rule. Whether they should be permitted for Axis in '42 I have no idea as never got to play far into year two.
