This is one sweet game

WarPlan Pacific is an operational level wargame which covers all the nations at war in the Pacific theatre from December 1941 to 1945 on a massive game scale.

This is one sweet game

...and in all humility, I have played almost every one. Some IMHO comments:

1. This is not WitP:AE, and for those with a life, or a life that is coming close to the end, thank God it is not.
2. Even if you have all of the excellent Strategic Command (SC) series of games, this one fits somewhere in between them. It is a solid addition that stands on its on merits.
3. If you have issues with outcomes that you feel are not historical, use the game editor and fix it. The detail level of this utility is mouth-watering and infinitely and understandably superior to WitP:AE's capabilities.
4. Even a novice scenario designer can jump into the China'37 scenario, let's say, and in a few minutes create a completely new experience. The SC series has similar power, but takes a bit more effort.
5. The game is extremely accessible to the "average" Matrix Games customer and offers literally unlimited replay value.
6. The UI is clear enough that there is no real need to initially crack open the manual, and the level of "drill down" detail is impressively rich.

This is $40 well spent!

Great post Rosseau! I agree. #1 made me laugh, but it's exactly where I'm at. Close to the end.

Slowly getting into this gem & agree with the 'op' on how accessible everything appears to be.
The editor, alone, is outstanding...which means this game (like Warplan) is a complete 'war sim' package for us gamers.

Just a post to agree with that. The game is far to be flawless but there is a huge potential for a PBEM classic and the games are running smoothly and pretty quickly, the UI is good and the dev is listening. I really enjoy it.
War in the East 2 / West. Warplan Pacific. Command Ops. DC:Barbarossa. Flashpoint Campaigns. TOAW4. CMANO.

I do wish there was more detail about carrier operations and searches but that wouldnt fit with the scope of the game.

Fully agree. In many ways I feel like this is the wargame I've been waiting for my whole life. Been long interested in the Pacific war and have picked up many board and computer games on the subject. War in the Pacific AE was just too much for me though, and SC is fun but lacks historical realism. This game gets the scale just right and the game system looks like it wil be able to reproduce the complex naval battles of the period with some accuracy.

Another thumbs up for this game.
Bought both Warplan and Warplan Pacific today after reading and watching some video's about the game.
Keep up the good work. Very much looking forward to diving into these gems.
