Got an Idea - everyone say "uh, oh!"

I wonder if we could convince the powers that be to put into play an onboard designation for refit for ships in harbor. Rather than being simply at anchor and repairing - they could be designated as incapable of movement or operations and given a quickened pace for the reduction of system/flotation damage. It could take two turns to put them in refit - then the refit rate would apply for the reduction of damage - and if one had to break refit - it would cost turns and probably add some damage points back into the system. This arose because I just sent Sara to Brisbane to repair - sys damage 15 - high enough that I want to be careful with her, but not so high that I want to send her to Pearl - and maybe not get her back for 60 days or so with only a slightly dinged Enterprise and the ever tender Wasp in theater at present. Hornet took a licking in a bloody fracas with Sho and Zui and their consorts, along with her sister and Sara - and has been in Pearl for three months and won't come back for until after Essex arrives. The good thing is that Sho and Zui haven't been seen in several months either.

But, how about the idea of an in-theater refit period. Limit it to level 9 ports and only so many ships and or ship refit points per port per turn. That makes it interesting to see what you put in faster.

I think the repair rate at level 9 ports is already pretty good for everything except CVs and BBs. For those capital ships I usually send them back to Tokyo, even though it means I won't see them again (maybe ever).

Nice idea, Rev. That would be soooo useful. I can think of a few DM's and ML's that would be in every 3-4 weeks, and that's just a start. :)
I give approximately two fifths of a !#$% at any given time!
