Fall Weiss Game over: MarkusGeb Axis, JimWC Allies. Axis resigns June 2, 1943. Though the Axis own the Med, they're at a standstill in Russia and the Allies have just invaded a lightly-defended France.

I'm looking for another Fall Weiss games, either side.

ORIGINAL: The Land
Edited: New game commenced, Will952 (Axis) vs The Land (Allies)

Game concluded - Allies surrender August 1942. I managed to do a bit of damage in 39-40 and was feeling fairly optimistic in mid-1941 after appearing to beat off the Afrika Corps. However Will952 successfully kept the pressure on the British and used air units very cleverly in Africa, managing to take Egypt with only a handful of land units. I misplayed diplomacy slightly and focused too much on keeping Sweden out, which meant he could get Spain in on the last turn before US intervention. With the Western Allies holed up in Iraq and Russian resistance not looking able to resist a determined continued attack it was time to throw in the towel.

Good game Land!

Getting Spain was quite flukey - I think that changed the trajectory of things quite a bit.

The early years were quite back and forth and the British invasion of Norway was very well done - not something I've seen before, but surely something I'll try (poorly) to replicate!

Game completed: El_Condoro(Allies) vs BPINisBack(Axis). Axis "decisive?" victory at the end of the game (December, 1946)
Axis forces were at 2 hex of Perm meanwhile London and El Cairo were in axis hands too.
A very long and fun game!
Thank you, El_Condoro, for this lovely game!

I am looking for a new game. Either side. Please, PM.

Game Over..........Gilber (Allies) vs. Scottydawg (Axis); Axis surrender.

This guy plays perhaps the best game of any of those which I have challenged---HE'S VERY GOOD INDEED!

With only 19 turns per calendar year, Gilles managed to reach UK Ftr Tech level 3 by Autumn 1940...USSR AA Tech level 2 AND Inf Tech level 2 by Autumn 1941...these achievements, combined with solid tactical doctrine spelled the end of whatever initiative I had in the early game. When the US entered the war Spain was at 86% Axis...a real bummer but I doubt even this would have been a game changer.

NOTE: Due to the faulty recent patch, this is the SECOND attempt at our initial match; I still got the stick (no carrot)!
By autumn we stood with our backs to the town of Orel
Closer and closer to Moscow they come...

I am open for a new match. I will fight anyone anytime!

(Actually, due to my rural lifestyle at Summer's start I only have time for a single match right now...I would prefer Axis but due to the extreme level of fun I have with ANY game I start win or lose, any side is fine with me).

contested air and naval battles (especially in the North Sea), an exciting game.

I had never had in a game an evolution of the aeronautical technology so fast (the axis had the level 2 in May 40 to be caught up a little later by the allies).
luck had an important place as well as diplomacy to influence Spain which was very close to the 90% threshold when the USA entered the war. a frustrating situation for the Axis but which was maybe not definitively lost (with 3 chit at 5% for the UK and 2 chit maximum at 7% for the USA it makes 29% against the 30% that Germany and Italy can cumulate) so a balance of 1% in favor of the Axis. a very small chance but a chance anyway that Spain will switch later.

thanks to Scottydawg for this interesting game.

Game Over nnason (Axis) Gilber(Allies) Axis surrender (around autumn 40)

A stubborn resistance of the combined French-English forces on the ground of France and costly naval battles for the kriegmarine came to end the determination of the forces of the axis.

nnason, thank you for the game.

Gilles is a gentleman and so is fun to play. He has a devastating 1940 Allied strategy so beware.

Thank you sir may I have another!

(I learned more from getting trashed by this guy (Gilber) in two recent games than...)

AND NOW I HAVE BECOME A MUCH BETTER PLAYER WITH A WHOLE NEW PROSPECTUS ON USING SOME OF MY DEVELOPED STRATEGIES. I welcome another match with this fine opponent...set it up and I'll be there![&o]
