Congratulations to Desertwolf on a great game I couldnt get this one back on track. His deep raids were a thing of beauty and he caught me badly 3 times with them

His timing was impeccable and the only reason I have conceded is I cannot see a way back in less than 18 months and thats a long time to play turtle and do basically nothing even then I think its a coin flip and he would ave achieved 3 AV's in a row !!!!

He outplayed his previous opponent and me so well done to him.

One day I will play him from the start when he decides he can face another Japanese game because I know well I am not good enough to play Japan !!!

An honorable offer made and an honorably accepted.

Great game thanks to you both!

"One day I will play him from the start when he decides he can face another Japanese game because I know well I am not good enough to play Japan !!!" I just laughed out loud when I read this!

Andy Mac, you've been a big part of this game for a long time. I want to thank you for all your efforts and let you know how much us long-time lurkers have enjoyed the product of your labors. It's a great accomplishment.

And I'd love to see a rematch, too!

A very informative and entertaining AAR. Thanks for taking the time to share it. Agree with others that the writing and graphics were "on-point", and made it a fun read.

Congratulations on your well deserved win! It will be sad to say goodbye to such a unique Japanese AAR but its understandable with the lull in the conflict and the fact that Andy could've lost in the 1944 Counter attack, but the insanity of Allied reinforcements arriving by 1944-1945-1946 would've given your Japan a good run for its Money.

If the game had continued we would've had a "Cold War" with the USN and RN sole purpose being to "contain" the Imperial Japanese Navy from raiding the Convoy Lines up until late 1944.

So this is what is likely to had happened if we stayed

Burma would be slowly pushed by 1943, but by 1945 a British Amphibious Assault against Burma would commence,

Ceylon Invasion 2.0 would be launched in late 1943,

Russia would be bogged down by Japanese Bombers but will push through slowly unless the IJA can contain any flanking mannovers, like a turtle the tanks can never leave the safety of the AA guns,

Alaska and those islands in the north Pacific will be taken by Summer 1944 if KB is distracted, However they could be retaken stopped by Japanese reinforcements.

An Amphibious assault against the Fiji Islands will commence in early 1944 with a possible Carrier Battle and Battleship Duels.

Depending on the results from Fiji the Solomons Islands OR Marshall Islands will be next by late 1944 or mid. Allied Submarines start biting.

However depending on the results of the said Amphibious Assaults could instead be taken against Indonesia (the SRA) (late 1944) in order to shut down the oil of Japan, the Naval Battle from the aftermath could determine the fate of Japan, the SRA would become a bloodbath for Allied Pilots flying against Elite George and Frank Fighters however.
All the Allies need is one functional base with B-29's in the centre of the SRA to bomb all the Oil regions and doom the economy, provided that they can protect the base from Yamato's guns and replace the dieing Fighter pilots.

Well that's the "What If's" delt with, thanks you Desertwolf for the 42 pages of entertainment that this AAR has provided to this community.

This is an INCREDIBLE accomplishment. Congratulations. I am incredibly impressed. [&o] [&o] [&o] [&o] [&o]

When reading this, I had to remind myself with your every post that THIS IS SCENARIO 1, where Japan gets historical OOB.

I have also accomplished a win in 1943, and got all India, and got auto victory in scen1 (..... but it was versus computer, so it does not count [:D] )

Once again, this is a classic AAR, alongside the Greyjoy's two AAR's on this site.

Highly, highly recommended to all to read this.

Once again, very, very impressive play.

Thank you kindly! It was a blast of a game. Somewhat bittersweet though since I doubt I will ever do as well as I did in this campaign.

Congratulations to my new opponent also from my side.

I followed this AAR with great pleasure: URSS is the only big campaign which I've never done as Jap in a Scen01 PBEM and I was very curious of its outcomes.
