Looking for First game!

Hello Matrix Gamers

I've just set up an account, and would like to try SC:WOW multiplayer. I am obviously new to the game, but have played through a 1939 campaign successfully and read highlights from the manual.

Ideal opponents: Beginner -> Intermediate -> Enthusiast

Actually the ideal opponents are people who don't mind chatting a bit about what's going on. My ideal game would be a learning experience played as much for fun as it is for total Global Domination.

First game finished - and won!
A July 1942 victory of Allies over the Axis. On a micro level, my opponent P clearly knew his stuff far better than I did. He had taken a mere 3 German land casualties to my 35 British, for example, and had taken Egypt, Palestine, the whole of France and Algeria, Singapore and parts of Asia.

On a macro level despite the gap in casualties, he was correct to call it a day. The British had kept the Germans busy, the Indians were assisting China and the invasion of Russia was getting no where (no more than half way to Moscow, Stalingrad and Leningrad before stalling), and the USA had finally woken up.

I am looking for a new to intermediate game as Axis. I have played 5 PBEM games.

Would you like a ELO match with standard rules ( no diplo on majors, barbarrosa on 1941, no diplo in Bulgaria ).

I have no problem about softqueue or hardqueue regarding production.

I would like to play Axis ( my last 2 games I was Allies )

I played and won both 39 singleplayer campaigns, but havent played mp yet. Though being unexperienced in SC I am a very reliable mp gamer in general, playing strategic mp games for decades now.

Sure, sounds perfect. Feel free to host. I haven't tried 'soft queue' so prefer the default settings, but if you'd like it I am happy to try.

Thanks for accepting my game invitation. Im ready to start today, prefering the allies. Do we need any houserules?

The game has been set up. Password is your username. It can count for ELO if you like, I just joined in with that.

Houserules: I am told the common ones are:
No Diplomacy spent on Major Powers
No Diplomacy spend on Bulgaria
No Declaration of War vs Russia before 1941

And of course I didnt play 39 sp games... I played and won the 1939 scenario with both sides.

I have problems joining the pbem server. I get the message: "Connection error 15. General error." Does anyone know this problem and can help?

Glad to see you got it to work. OK then let's add it to ELO, so the battle feels like part of Something Larger.
