In Egypt/Libya the Allies continue to lick their wounds in Alexandria and Cairo.

Not shown is I did sortie the German U-Boat fleet to raid the Murmansk convoy. The British have over 300 MS (thanks partly to my DOWs on the Netherlands and Norway) so there is no hope of winning the BOA. But maybe I can reduce Russia's production a little.

JUNE 19, 1942

7 MS are sunk on the Arctic convoy route to Russia where the Allies have no escorts. I assume that will probably change.

Otherwise there is no action in the West.

In the East the Russian retreat again.

The Axis destroy 2 of the units that were pinned last turn and encircle the other 2. A surprisingly successful attack on Stalingrad captures the City.

10 MS sunk on the Arctic convoy route (still no escorts).

The Allies invade Brittany and I rail in reinforcements.

Two Allied Fleets threaten Axis positions in the Mediterranean. Intelligence Reports indicate that the Allied fleet in the Adriatic only has 4 ships. So I move my entire Italian Fleet to pursue and obtain an unsatisfactory result.

The Allies launch more invasions in Normandy and the Pas de Calais. IMHO Hadros made a mistake here. Rather than invading 3 hexes last turn and 3 hexes this turn, he should have invaded all 6 hexes on the same turn. If he had done so I could only have railed in a few units; probably not enough to contain both invasions. But this way last turn was able to rail in a 100 points of units and could do the same this turn. So I was able to destroy a couple corps in Brittany and rail enough units to contain the Normandy invasion.

Fierce battles in the Adriatic on both the Allies turn and my turn. The Regia Marina distinguishes itself and does not lose a single ship.

After several attacks, what I believe is the last Russian Armour unit is destroyed.

The invasion of Normandy is a desperation move when Russia is nearly lost...
I understand it...I just invaded Spain since France is just that much harder.

Doubt it will matter...but never know...

You are undoubtedly right; but, IMHO, it is a desperation move that would have had a greater chance of success if he had made multiple invasions on one turn. It is possible he didn't have enough transports on the first turn of invasion, but I would have waited until the next turn. having said that he did draw away one of my Mech units from AGS.
