RE: Truck Summary in logistics Phase Report is hard to understand:
resupply airbases, who is resuppling it and where do the supples comes from. It seems more efficient than air dropping it.
RE: Truck Summary in logistics Phase Report is hard to understand:
Are replacements sent to units using the same system as sending supplies, ie replacements cost freight, and the closer the depot to a unit, and the more freight it can handle, the more replacements are sent out?

afaik, drawn from local depots, so its a routine akin to combat resupply

yes, but with an important caveat.
it seems that replacements are the last bit of freight sent out, so in a stressed system, you might do ok for supply/ammo and still not pick up replacements (this is what happens to the Germans dec 41-jan 42, in effect manpower piles up in their reserve as it can't be allocated.

Thanks Loki - makes sense

This is under review by Gary & Joel, replacement freight does seem to behave differently in unit supply details, or at least the presentation is different. See tech support ticket.

Do HQ units maintain fort levels on their own?
RE: Truck Summary in logistics Phase Report is hard to understand:
no, but even a 1% TOE fortification unit will
RE: Truck Summary in logistics Phase Report is hard to understand:
Could someone please post a part of their theater box logistics report showing scrapping of units - so far about 250 light tanks have disappeared but I can't see anywhere in the logistics report TB section where they have been scrapped.
RE: Truck Summary in logistics Phase Report is hard to understand:
Scrapping of vehicles may not be reported in WitE2 as they are in WitE1
WitE dev team - (aircraft data)
WitE 1.08+ dev team (data/scenario maintainer)
WitW dev team (aircraft data, partial data/scenario maintainer)

When I press Ai Assist in the moving phase (to relocate the AOGs) the AI flies a lot of transport freight missions. I take some crashes with it.
1. How can I avoid the transport freight missions?
2. The Ai sends it without escorts. Can this be changed?

Are there any unforeseen downsides as the Sov player for disbanding the various on-map rifle and naval brigades and using the manpower elsewhere?

I wouldn't but that is a judgement as to how I use the Soviets in 41-42.
To me rifle brigades have 2 huge advantages over just manpower and stuff in the pool:
a) you can attach to a RD, so a stack of 3 RD and 3 brigades in a hex can be a really powerful force, attached to your early Gds Rifle Corps and you can put the equivalent of 9-12 RD in a hex (by 1943 that is well over 100 CV), by 1944 can be heading towards 200 cv, that will kick down any defensive line.
b) you can use them as 'march battalions' and merge into weakened RD, this is invaluable on sectors like Leningrad or the Caucasus/Stalingrad where you may really struggle to bring in normal replacements (late game this applies in Hungary) - so you basically choose which units get repaired and don't have to pull them back to a depot or the reserve

Thanks Loki, that's really great info.

Is there a way to see the number of captured trucks/vehicles? I can't seem to find them in the production screen or anywhere in the manual.
RE: Truck Summary in logistics Phase Report is hard to understand:
They are listed at the bottom of the Freight section of the Events Log.

RE: Truck Summary in logistics Phase Report is hard to understand:
at the supply details tab for units
at the very bottom it says: no freight and no trucks etc with a number..what does this stand for?
also at the top (current status) ...if for vehicles it says we used 400 does that mean 400 from their own pool of vehicles (thus reducing combat value?)
whats the attrition btw...lost vehicles or lost freight?
also whats the point of building many depots for example in the north frontline or south
is that a way to allocate more supplies in that general direction (so i want more supplies in leningrad compared to south..il build some extra depots there..and give them prio 4?)
is it a good idea to build a depot wherewver i see long red lines (indicating he has to go far for their supplies)
also what does many unused vehicles indicate? how can i judge wether a depot is doing a good spot or is just wasting vehicles
tnx!

best to point you to the manual - I think 37.12 covers the tab you are looking at?

RE: Quick Questions Thread
yea i gave that entire thread a read earlier today and i got a headache...the logistics system is really something else...
does it make sense to add depots if the current ones near the frontline are not at capacity yet?

Probably not because if a depot isn't utilizing full capacity then the issue isn't depot capacity but rather other issues (not enough demand from nearby units, not enough freight, not enough rail capacity, not enough railyard capacity). Adding more will just exacerbate the issue rather than helping to solve it. Depending on which issue you have there are various ways to go about rectifying it, but more depots wouldn't help in this situation.
