Who needs odds better than 2:1?

Post by Floxolydian »

Don't mind me taking Orel with a fatigued Infantry Division, with 0 CPP, with a hasty attack on Urban territory, with Odds literally 1.0:1, with a lvl 1 fort, routing the soviet cavalry division (yes, highly understrength, but still - i feel lucky) [:D][:D][:D].

This is common against depleted and/or unready formations. Only 2400 men in a Cav Division, they would've won except their numbers collapsed during combat and they just ran out of guys.

This is why when you play Early Soviets you really need to pull any formations under 60% or so of TOE from the front and get them REFIT. Otherwise they are very likely to do this....

the other quirk is sometimes a unit can still have a lot of support squads/artillery but lack combat elements, so if it loses a few more then it too can collapse (& from the raw numbers it can look relatively strong).

if you over-use a Pzr division in 1941 this can easily happen
