[WAD] show air directive targets not working

I have set up 10+ GND ATTACKs.

I click on shift-y to see all of my air directive targets. None show up. This is true for Air Only or Air and Ground.

I'm thinking I have set a filter somewhere that is preventing my seeing the directives.

I am replicating what Strategy Gaming Dojo is doing in his first of four tutorials entitled "War in the East 2: The Air War | Part 1". I have set up all of the ground attacks from the mid-point on. Now I want to see all of my ground attacks at one time. So, I hit shift-y (I actually click on it) while zoomed out. I see nothing. This occurs at the 49:55 point in the playback.

I used to be able to do this. Now I can't. What filter have I clicked or view I am in that is preventing "show air directive targets" from working?

I fixed it.

I had my Air Directives on the right side of my screen.
I clicked on '>>' that I believe said "Return to HQ ??" and all of my planned GND ATTACKs popped onto the screen.

I need to figure out what I did to cause this.

Any ideas?

I'll continue to answer my own questions.

When I clicked on '>>' the comment was "Return to HQ List"

Basically, I was apparently giving viewing priority to a different screen mode. Clicking '>>' showed all Luftflottes and all of my GND ATTACKS for Luftflotte 1.

So many, many screen filters and views....

You need to be in F3 (ground attack) mode if you want to see the ground attack air directives on the map. If you are in F1 mode, you will see all directives on the map, but if you are in F2-F7 modes, you will only see those directives when you have all the air commands showing in the right unit bar area. That what you see in the video (F3 mode). Once you go to a particular air command on the right, you'll only see the active AD on the map.

Thanks for the clarification, Joel. I used to get annoyed when my ex-wife would tell me that her brain had stopped working and she couldn't think anymore. I think I have uttered that exact thing to myself on several occasions while learning this game.

I really love this game. There are certain pieces of software that I want to master. I want to become a 'power user'. That typically applies to a s/w tool. I always strived to be a WinDbg and an IDA Pro power user. I would just get by with Word or Excel. I know that I want to be a War in the East 2 power user... a guru... a stud... the man with the answers. I also know that this will take a lot of time and study and play. I will get there. Just pontificating.

I no longer live in Elkridge (21075), but I think screen names can't be changed. I never looked into it.
