Mega Diesel/Electric Engines

Post by Pratapon51 »

Monster Heavy Tanks and Monitor Tanks, as well as the most laden Heavy Walkers, simply aren't feasible to field at any workable speed until the advent of Fusion Engines. These are on opposite ends of the tech tree, so it takes a while between getting one and the other, leaving you with what may be a somewhat dead-end model. Maybe this is realistic, but it's certainly not so fun!

The size of the nonnuclear engines we can build seems a bit arbitrary because of the abstracted 'size' of each model. There ought to be enormous conventional engines we could build to power them. Maybe they'd be immense power, resource, and fuel hogs, but otherwise we get units that take forever to get to any fight.

We recently figured out the fuel formula for ground vehicles and it turns out weight is a main factor.
But double and tripple Engines do multiply fuel consumption by 2 or 3 times - wich I reported as a bug, as it makes no logical sense.

Hmm, but both Heavy Tanks *already* get a new diesel engine tier : the Triple Heavy Diesel Engine ?
[...]
Yeah, that lack of Monitor-only Diesel engine tier again.
*All* the previous tank tiers get a new size of diesel engine to go with their new sizes of calibre and plating, but not the Monitor... an oversight or by design ?
It kind of sucks considering the Monitor is the only tank that you have to research !

Well, there's at least one exception :
"Early" Monitor Tank - TacNuke FTW !
(Somewhat circumstantial since v1.08.06, now that TacNukes require Radioactives to not only to build them, but also to fire them too ?)
